At their last meeting on Tuesday, October 6th, the Parish Council debated the gap in the hedge in the extreme south-west corner of the Recreation Ground. Although no gap was ever intended, it was clear from the discussions that there was some feeling from those using the Rec that there should be a gap there in order to provide better access to Car Dyke.
There are a number of issues, including possible conflict between the users of Hall Farm Stables and rec users if dogs or children are able to run from the rec onto the track. However, the Parish Council agreed to look into the possibility of opening the gap and installing a gate.
If you have any views either way on whether or not there should be a gap created, please contact us as soon as possible. We are keen to get as many views as possible before making a decision.
Incidentally, if you are not clear just where the gap is, click here for a Google map of the area.
