Age UK vacancy - Community Warden

Age UK are recruiting for a part-time (15 hours/week) Community Warden covering Waterbeach, Landbeach and Chittering. The postholder supports older people to remain living in their own homes by providing them with practical daily support and assistance. Tasks such as collecting prescriptions, small items of shopping, helping with letters and phone calls and ensuring safety and well-being. The warden will also be responsible for the promotion of the service within the area.

Waterbeach Doctor's Surgery

The surgery is holding a patient event to discuss the changes at the practice and to answer any questions or concerns that residents may have.

The event will be held on Tuesday 11 February at the Beach Social Club on Cambridge Road. One session will start at 2pm and the second session will start at 7pm.  (04/02/20)

Meetings week commencing 20 January 2020

The following meeting are taking place this week:

Tuesday 21 January - Planning Committee at 7.30pm in the Parish Office.

Tuesday 21 January - the Neighbourhood plan team hosting a drop-in session on the presubmission consultation. This is a very informal event and all welcome to pop into the Beach Social Club, Cambridge Road any time between 7-9pm to ask questions of the Neighbourhood Plan team as well as give their views and comments on how they see the village developing.

Wednesday 22 January -WPC Finance Committee reconvenes at 10am in the Parish Office to continue discussions from last Wednesday night's agenda where the meeting ran out of time.  (20/01/20)

Recreation Ground Car Park - hedge removal

The resurfacing of the car park involves the removal of some of the hedging that currently divides the Tillage Hall section from the remainder of the car park. This work is being done in advance of other works as it has to be done by law before prescribed date for the start the birding season in February.

The timing for the resurfacing works themselves will await the return of tenders for the works and further updates will follow in due course.  (13/01/20)

As he prepares the policing budget for 2020-2021, the Acting Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire is asking residents for their views on funding the police service. A survey has been launched and replies are invited between now and 27 January. You can access it here  (13/01/20)
