Extraordinary Council Meeting

An Extraordinary meeting of the Council will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 7.30pm in the Parish Office. The agenda is in the usual place.

The main purpose of the meetingis to discuss a Public Interest Report received from the Council's auditors. This has been issued because the Council has not yet completed or filed the details of its accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023. Here is an extract from the report:

We have been in communication with the Council regarding its failure to comply with its statutory responsibilities regarding the 2022/23 AGAR since the agreed extension to the submission deadline was missed on 31 July 2023. None of the subsequent expected dates of submission that the Council informed us of have been met.

As at 30 January 2024, the 2022/23 AGAR has still not been submitted to us and as a result we must report in the public interest that Waterbeach Parish Council has failed in its statutory duties to account to its taxpayers for the use and safeguarding of their money.

The full report can be found by following this link.

At the meeting the Council will discuss the report and the actions it intends to take ready for the official statutory meeting for which 8 days notice has to be given.  (22/03/24)

Statement from the Chair to Waterbeach Parish Council

Mr. Pinion, the senior groundsman of Waterbeach Parish Council and an officer of the Parish Council has been made unwell by the constant and nasty harassment he has been subjected to by a number of persons.

Mr. Pinion is a loyal employee of Waterbeach Parish Council who strives to use his considerable skills and knowledge to the benefit of our community. The history of harassment is totally unacceptable and must not continue.

Mr. Pinions absence negatively impacts on the service we, the Parish Council, should be providing to our community. Those involved in pursuing this bullying campaign are acting against the interest of the community.
